Weekly Update

What a week!

We met our wonderful friends at Sesame Place this weekend to celebrate the birthday's of L and her friend K.

(remember when they used to look like this?)

Well... they don't look like that anymore. Now they look big. And old. *snif*

Anyhow... we met our dear friends at Sesame Place for a weekend of fun, and we definitely had plenty of it! We arrived Friday night after the long drive, just in time for bed, but we all woke up early enough on Saturday to meet Cookie and Abby and friends for breakfast.

There was just one problem... it was RAINING! OF course, we weren't going to let a little thing like rain spoil our fun! We got a parking spot right in front and put on our ponchos to go eat and see some characters!

Ernie was the first character we saw. I wasn't 100% sure what to expect from L. At Disney she couldn't get enough of the characters, but that was 6 months ago and she's a lot more nervous about strangers than she was then. I just didn't know what would happen.

So Ernie came up. L was mildly interested...

She looked over to check him out...

But then he goes in for the touch...

AND L was not cool with that...

and that was pretty much how she felt about all the characters. She liked them from far away, but up close they were just too much.

We had a good breakfast and we were visited by more characters.

K was not phased by the characters at all.

I really love this one!

When Bert came by I asked L, "Do you want a picture with Bert?" and she said, "NO." Bert looked down in sadness, and wondered why.

And I said, "I'll do it with you!" I'm not sure that was as much of a comfort to her as I thought it would be. Hee hee.

DSC_0027

Wait! This reminds me of something...

OH YEAH! It's this!

DSC_0019

I love that photo.

L and K had the best time together. They made fast friends and played together just like a couple of almost two years olds would.

We didn't get to see Cookie up close at breakfast, but he was there.

While it was raining there were only two rides open, the carousel and the teacups. There was no good place to take photos at the carousel, but there was a nice overhang at the teacups. What L has in fear of characters, she makes up for in non-fear of rides. She just loves them!

While we were on the teacup ride the rain lifted and the other rides opened up. We headed to the balloon ride next.

It was so funny to look up and all of the baskets were going around nicely and Brad's basket was spinning around and around like a top. It would have been a good time for a video, but I didn't think of it at the time. It was so funny.

Brad says L was having a blast, but from what I could tell she was plastered to the side of the basket.

She seemed happy enough though!

Next we headed over to the brownstone to have a family photo.

We found Cookie in the park and went over to meet him.

L found a fire truck to play on.

Then we headed off for more rides.

We had some lunch in there somewhere and we headed over to get some good seats for the parade. We sat right across from Hooper's store.

The parade was awesome.

But by that time of day, K and L had started to get a little tired.

After the parade we headed back to the hotel for some naps and an evening of fun!

Sunday we came in our swimsuits ready for some water rides. I didn't get as many photos because I didn't want to get my camera too close to the water action, but we still had tons of fun.

K's little brother C enjoyed the day too and enjoyed some snuggle time with his mommy while the Daddy's and kids rode the lazy river.

He is so precious!! I got a few good squeezes in.

The Daddies and toddlers enjoyed the lazy river. It seemed like they were gone forever, but it fun to see them finally come around.

Brad and L were blowing kisses.

After more fun water rides we decided we still needed to do one last thing! VISIT ELMO! So we headed off to the place where Elmo hangs out.

When we got there I asked L, "Do you want to give Elmo a hug?" and she said, "hug!" and crawled out of her stroller and ran to Elmo. She got about halfway to him and then changed her mind and ran straight back to me. I asked her if she wanted me to go and she said yes so we got our photo taken together. We didn't buy the photos from the park, but the green screen looks a little funny in our photos!

DSC_0339

K was very brave. He ran right up to Elmo and gave him a big hug!

DSC_0342

Awww!

DSC_0344

After that we had to head home. I can't wait to go again next year. It's hard to believe that little C will be old enough to enjoy the park and that L will have two baby siblings by then! Oh my goodness!

And now for those 14 week photos. My belly is growing slowly but surely. I'm excited to see the babies next week at an ultrasound.

DSC_0001

I'm going to post some birthday stuff for my baby soon. See you then!
