The bunny...

I saw this in a scrapbook idea book for babies sitting in the airport at the very beginning of august 2007. I thought it would be forever before I'd ever get to use that idea. It wasn't too long! My only regret is that I didn't take one of her as a brand spankin new newborn.

I love these photos. It really puts everything into perspective. Just look at how she's changed!

Weekly Update

It's been a busy week!

On Wednesday we moved in officially and we've spent nearly everyday since unpacking. There are still so many boxes around, but our living room and kitchen have been unpacked and put away and are safe for sweet baby L to roam around in. She's enjoying her new house! The hard floors in the living room are proving rough though, last night she tripped while crawling and whacked her chin causing a bloody lip and today she fell backwards and bonked her head on the floor. We have alphabet foamies in part of the room, but the bumps and falls don't happen over there (of course!).

Brad and I took my camera back to the store this week. It was the second one (exact same) that we'd gotten and both had broken battery doors. We decided to get a nice new camera, but it won't be in until the 11th, so I pulled out my old canon. I pulled the photos off today and I found some that I didn't even know were on there.

That photo is from November 11th. She hardly looks like the same person! I can't even believe that she was that tiny. It's ridiculous but she still wears those jeans. They fit her like capris and I think that they are really cute. :-)

As I said before, our week has been spent unpacking and doing boring things around the house. L has been keeping busy though. She's pretty good at unpacking.

Sweet baby L is always interested in the camera and when she sees it come out, she heads straight for you to check it out a bit better.

IMG_9882

But that gets boring and then she goes back to her window.

We did take a bit of time out to celebrate the fourth. Sweet baby L wore her flag onesie and I made chicken wings for dinner. We found out that sweet baby L LOVES chicken wings, although she examines them before she puts them in her mouth. I find that to be funny since most things she just puts in her mouth before she even sees what it is, but I guess we have to start somewhere.

I used the fourth as my first attempt to get L's hair into pigtails, but it's just not long enough yet. We'll try again in a couple months.

I love that last photo. When you tilt your head at her she'll do it back to you. It is really really cute.

Today we just played around the house (yes, she is in her pajamas in these photos, and actually, she's now sleeping in the same pajamas...). I was watching her sitting in the middle of her toys playing nicely with some keys and I thought it was super cute, so I ran to the kitchen to grab my camera. She noticed, of course, that I got up and then decided to start to follow me, so this is the photos I got.

and this is seconds later.

After a bit she forgot about the camera and decided to torture Kate (poor kate). She was all rolled up and didn't even see it coming, although I doubt that she is ever in the same room with L that she doesn't know exactly where she is.

Sweet baby L played with her bunny this evening and I thought it might be the only chance to get some good photos, so here they are.

IMG_9896

(she's watching her daddy leave in that photo, which I think just makes it precious)

IMG_9897

I sat her on the couch just to try to take a couple of photos.

(if you look closely you can see her new butterfly earrings)

and that may be as good as our ten month bunny photos get. We'll try again tomorrow.

We'll see you next week!

Weekly Update

We started out the week trying a new food: Cheerios!

Sweet baby L was very excited to try them and even though she hasn't done a ton of self-feeding (I know, I know!) she was working it out.

Oops! Dropped one!

The best action can really only be seen on video. In the first video you can see Sweet baby L's best technique for eating cheerios and in the second you get a glimpse of her cheerio eating buddy kate and a bit more cheerio fun.

Some cheerios did make it into her mouth, but I found this in her chair when she got up.

Friday night we went camping at a local park. Brad and I enjoyed camping quite a bit in our former lives and I think we'll continue to after this, but in my limited experience camping with a nine month old who is in constant motion and likes to eat everything she touches, just isn't that much fun. We did have some good times though!

This is sweet baby L going to bed on Friday:

I tried to stay in my citronella orb! It didn't work. My right leg is COVERED in bites!

AHHHH! Camping hair!

L in the pack 'n play wishing she could get out and explore a bit!

P5310027

The best part of camping! BREAKFAST! It's not in the photo, so you'll just have to imagine it. It was bacon and eggs!

P5310032

It was an empty can! In the wilderness you have to make toys out of everyday objects.

We were going to camp out Saturday night too, but since we got very little sleep Friday night we decided to pack it in and go home. I think L was a lot happier in her own room than outdoors and I was certainly happy to be away from the mosquitos.

I am loving watching L's personality grow. She's exploring a lot more lately and she's really just becoming a little person. It's really amazing to watch. I know everyone says that, but seriously, it really really is.

P5310053

This is L exploring the vertical blinds and giving me the, "what's it to you" look.

P5310055

P5310063

I just love this photo. I love the face. I love the way she's sitting. We don't really have a name for that particular look, but she does it and then laughs. We all think it's pretty funny, I guess.

P5310068

Here she's making her face and stealing my glasses.

P6020076

and... finally... our bunny photo. This is the best one we've got. I had to bribe her with the remote even.

See you next week!
