What a GREAT weekend! I told you guys it was going to be big and it definitely was.
We started out at an airshow. Both kids love planes and since we've been talking about going to this airshow since we moved here seven years ago we figured it was time. We had to leave a bit early because miss L had to get to her speech appointment but it was so so so much fun and I know next year we'll be back again.
I am always amazed by these giant cargo planes and it turns out that the deck of the plane was a great place to watch the planes perform.

Mister W was feeling very brave and several times just started wandering in the direction of what he wanted to see or do.
Fairly soon after that photo was taken a jet car performed on the runway. It was LOUD and mister W did NOT like that, so I got a few cuddles, but mostly it was mister independent that day.
Miss L loved these little tether holes. She thought it was fantastic that they were just the right size to put your feet in.
Mister W and I stayed on the ground while miss L and Brad toured this refueling plane.
We saw lots of awesome planes.
We even got a chance to sit in a helicopter. Miss L waited very patiently.
She was very very excited to get her turn.
Our independent little guy did get tired after awhile.
That afternoon we dropped miss L off at speech and then came home. We were planning on picking strawberries later and while we waited for the time to come we did some yardwork. While Brad was mowing we got out the sidewalk chalk for the first time this year. I can't believe summer is just around the bend!

Miss L got bubbles out of the treasure chest at speech and very much enjoyed having a chance to play with them.
When the time came to go strawberry picking we packed up and got ready to go. After texting with the friends we were meeting there we found out that the field was picked out. We decided to wait it out until later this week and met at a park instead. We found another park with a tire swing so of course that was the first place miss L went to play.
After a long play at the park we decided to go out to dinner together with our friends. What a fun evening!
The next morning we met the same friends for the spring companion to the fall farm weekend we participated in way back in september. After our rainy week and with rain in the forecast I was a bit nervous but it turned out that the weather was PERFECT.
Miss L was excited to ride the hay ride to the farm.
Mister W was interested in the tractor.
The farm was gorgeous as we expected it would be.
Miss L got to pet one of the shire horses.
...and we took lots of photos.
We spent most of our time in the kids area. We actually didn't spend much time there at all in the fall and so we enjoyed it even more.
There were bubbles.

We checked out the pastured chickens with their mobile henhouse.
Mister W loved those chickens.
Mister W also loved the turkeys. It's pretty funny to me that on Thursday mister W was so worried about the animals at the farm. He didn't want to be close to them and in fact, that's the way he is with most animals. Apparently immersion therapy was doing it's job though, and by the end of Saturday he even sat down and loved on a dog. :o)
Miss L practiced her fishing skills.
We also checked out some baby Old Gloucestershire Spot Pigs.
Mister W worked on buckling the seatbelts in the wagon. I remember miss L doing this too when she was just about that age. I love how they just practice and practice things.
Mister W did his own thing too. He loved the tractor.
We tried for a family photo, but this was the best one. You can see mister W had other ideas about what he'd like to be doing.
In fact, he wanted to play with the bubbles and I was impressed when he got them going all on his own.
Our friend miss C pushed miss L in the swing.
...and we ate lunch not too far from a few of the cows.
Come on, that baby cow is really cute!
Nobody seemed to be playing with the ring toss so we didn't protest too much when mister W spent some time taking apart and then putting back together the ring toss stake.

This is one of my favorites.
After that it was on to another farm. This one had a civil war era bank barn.
They also let us get up close and personal with the sheep.
Then we visited one last farm. I have to say that baby pigs are really cute, but the animal that takes the cute cake has to be the baby goats. Oh my goodness, there were several on this farm that were SO SO SO cute.
They also had some chicks. I think those were mister W's favorite. He kept going back to the pen to look at them and would exclaim when he saw them.
What a wonderful day!
Sunday we just had a "home day." We went to the grocery store and cleaned the house. Miss L and I sat in the basement and took out her yarn braids. It took us a long time, but it was time to take them out. We both enjoyed our time together and I'm already thinking about the next style, though I think we'll just go with loose and free hair for awhile.
We have a busy week ahead. We start swimming lessons and have more fun planned so we'll see you soon!
