Fall 2013

Fall was a big season for us. Miss L started kindergarten and sweet little miss was born.

We decided, along with miss L's OT, that kindergarten would be a good fit for her. Don't get me wrong. We all felt like miss L knew her stuff, but we all just felt like easing into school was going to be the best for miss L. So that's what we did! I have to say that it was the very best decision too. She THRIVED in kindergarten this year. I know that has a lot to do with the fact that she got the world's very best ever teacher. I'm just so proud of this kid. I could go on and on, but here we are at the first day of school!

We were going through one of those things where you can't just stand and have your photo taken. There has to be a bit of a pose. :o)

So, when I picked miss L up from the first day of school I was pretty sure we'd made the worst decision ever. She was beyond upset. She said she hated school and she'd avoided going to the bathroom the whole time she was there so she wouldn't have to use the potty at the school. Goodness! I felt so bad that she seemed to have such a terrible day. Then, the next morning she woke up with a fever. Nothing like getting sick to bring on a rough patch at school. :o) She missed the next two days and after that, it was a breeze! She loved school! She couldn't wait to go back. WHEW!

We drew pictures.

(that's a spider)

We made our yearly trek to the farm for apple picking. Somehow I end up to be giantly pregnant every other year or so during this excursion, but we made it and those apples are so yummy.

Mister W had his first day of school.

For awhile it was so weird for mister W to be gone during the morning hours. We all missed him.

Thank goodness we had painting to do.

We also did some yoga.

Mister W was so happy when he got to bring home the class pet bamboo. He's a panda. Luckily he's also a stuffed animal. It's just so fun to watch him get excited about this stuff. He decided that he and bamboo needed to bake cookies, so we definitely did that!

Miss L and sweet little man enjoyed each other while mister W was at school. I just had to take pictures, they were so so so cute.

My parents visited in September. I'm not sure how it is that I have no pictures of that. Anyway, they got the kids these fabulous pumpkins. In October we painted them. The kids love any kind of painting and I have to admit that I just don't get the stuff out as often now. I really should. The pumpkins turned out great and it's so much less work than carving and when you are 30+ weeks pregnant with three little ones, much less work is the way to go.

I love fall. I really really do. I love sweaters and coffee and leaves and colors and all of it. Miss L does too. She also likes collecting. So this fall we did some leaf collecting.

We also did some leaf art.

Every once in a while I find some gems hidden somewhere. I found this self-portrait in a cookbook. It must be at least a year old. I love that kid. I wish she'd stop growing.

Mister W had a field trip with his preschool class to a local fall festival. Afternoon kindergarten was kind of a drag sometimes, but never on these mornings when miss L got to go with us because she wasn't in school. It was really fun.

Mister W wanted nothing to do with the animals and at first sweet little man wanted to feed them, but that quickly changed. When you are a tiny person even a little goat is gigantic.

Miss L, being the animal lover and the one who animals love, was happy to use her animal feed and that of her brothers.

Sweet little man decided he'd rather be carried. So we did that. Miss L took our photo. :o)

We may or may not have gotten way too much Starbucks this fall. I was pregnant. What can I say?!

In October, sweet little man turned two. Given his love of cake pops we made some cake balls for his birthday. He is just the sweetest little guy. His demeanor is so pleasant and easy going. He is just such a blessing in our lives so it's fun to see how proud and excited he is when he has his own day. :o)

He enjoyed playing doctor with Mickey with his new vet kit. He knew just what to do.

Because of my history and current gestational diabetes (ugh) I got to see the new little miss twice a week at the end. It was the only bright spot, getting to see her little face (sort of).

Once (well, probably more than once), mister W got sent to his room for screaming. I went up a couple of minutes later and found him like this. He really is such a sweet thing.

Late in October we went to a local farm as part of the fall farm tour. We saw all kinds of animals and a beautiful old farm house.

We got to learn a bit about archeology.

... and we played some cornhole.

The kids and Brad went on a hayride. Here we are waiting for it before it started.

We visited an equestrian center and miss L got to ride a horse.

We all went on the hayride there. I even got some cuddles.

We made cookies.

We dressed alike. I love these viking shirts.

We made votive holders.

We celebrated Halloween!

(yes, Mister W changed his mind about costumes and picked one from the dress up bin :o)

We went to an old rail station and got to climb up in an old caboose.

We rode the carousel at the mall.

We took selfies (and Brad grew a beard).

One of us kept losing teeth.

One of us had a couple of breathing treatments. They were just about to say he has asthma and miraculously this winter he didn't get sick once! Yay!

We read bedtime stories.

We played with trains and cars and bunnies.

We played dress up.

We celebrated friend's birthdays. These two have been friends as long as they can remember. This was a really fun day together.

I got to go to miss L's school for her Thanksgiving program. It was beyond adorable and I'm pretty sure I cried the whole time. Take a 38 week pregnant woman to a program where kids tell what they are thankful for and bring the tissues.

We had movie nights.

We went on dates. This sweet girl and I went to the frozen yogurt place just before her new sister was born.

We had good family time.

AND of course, this happened. On November 25th, we reported to the hospital.

At 10:49, weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz, this pink bundle of awesome entered the world.

Everyone was very proud of their new sister.

We even got to see friends. :o)

Poor Brad had to sleep on one of these. I always feel so bad for him.

Sweet little miss has been such a peaceful little girl from the beginning.

We're all pretty smitten with her.
