I'm sorry that I've been absent. No good excuse, we've just been busy and out of the house. That's been the best part about spring... there's so much to do outside! You know what this means though, right?! Looooong post. So get your giant diet coke, or whatever it is that you like and a comfy place to sit. Here we go!
I think it's sort of getting to be a little bit of a stretch to call it the "new" house, but we still do. We're loving the new house especially the new neighborhood. We've got tons of parks including a small one near our house. We can walk there in the afternoons when we're bored and it's a great time. We headed out there on exactly that sort of an afternoon last week sometime. I put L in the swings and we had tons of fun.

Can you believe that this is the same swing and the same girl?

I can hardly believe it myself! Those photos are from last july. She's gotten so big!
Of course, back in July the swings were all we did at the park, and now we're all over the place. I brought the bubble blower and L had a great time with it.

Last week we also got L her first pair of light up shoes. I showed them to her at the store thinking that she'd think they were neat and we would put them back, but she wanted them on right then. They were on sale and she needed some shoes so we purchased them and as soon as we got home we tried them on. She now loves stomping her feet to light up her shoes. It just makes me feel like she's so old!

Tuesday we were invited to L's friend C's house for an easter egg hunt. It was so much fun! L loves going to C's house and I love being able to hang out with C's mom, Laura. There were big kids and little kids and I think that everyone had a blast. The day started off with cookie decorating. L has had cookies before, but hasn't really taken much notice of them.

It started off easily enough. L waited patiently for her cookie.

I got her a butterfly cookie and put some frosting on it. I didn't think that L would successfully decorate her own cookie, but there is something that she did do really well... eating!

She loved that cookie. In fact, on the way home she was saying "cookie." It must have been really good to motivate her to learn the word! We had the opportunity to eat lunch with Brad the next day and a cookie came with her kid's meal. She was sooooo excited to see that cookie! I think we've started a trend here.
After a little more playtime, it was time to hunt eggs. As soon as we headed outdoors the big kids were all over the place, running after those eggs. This made L really excited too, and she wasted no time finding an egg!

It was so funny. She picked up that egg, looked at it, opened it and then threw it back. Ha ha! I think she didn't know what in the world to do with it.

She did eventually get 3 eggs that I convinced her to hand to me. It was too funny.
Everyone had a great time.

We tried to get a photo with C, E and L, but L cooperated about as well as a 19 month old does. :o)

It was a really fun morning with great friends and I even got to hold baby C quite a bit which was so nice. I had that baby smell on my hands for a couple of hours. :o)
We had a good rest of the week. We had our weekly playgroup. The weather was nice and we were able to play outdoors nearly everyday. Saturday was rainy and wet, but Sunday morning we woke up to bright beautiful sunshine.
We dressed ourselves up for church and L looked so cute in her dress. We tried and tried to get a good photo, but it looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time was not in the cards this year. She looks gorgeous anyhow.

I tried to stand L up on the porch to take a photo of her standing in her dress, but she wanted to jump! It was a good way to get a good photo of the dress!

She then noticed the bubbles sitting on the front porch and wanted to play. You can see Brad in the door.

The dress was just so perfect. I wasn't sure what in the world I was going to do, but we borrowed the dress from C, who purchased the dress for a wedding in France. It was a very special dress indeed!
After church and changing clothes, we headed to C's house for Easter lunch. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good. Ham, potatoes, more potatoes, deviled eggs (YUM!), peas and even fresh rolls. Oh goodness, it was so good. L and C were having a good time playing too.

I got to hold baby C again. I think that baby has to be the happiest little guy on earth. He's so easy to smile and so happy to watch his big sister play. What a guy!

After we played, it was time to go home for a nap. L was so tired. She fell asleep within minutes of us leaving their house and even stayed asleep at home. That is definitely evidence of a great morning! I took a nap as well. It was a great Easter.
While L was sleeping we put her Easter basket together.

At 5:30 we woke L up, because she'd been asleep for awhile AND because we were hoping that she'd be sleeping sometime that night. :o) She was still a little fuzzy when she entered the basement, but it didn't take long to notice the toys.

One of the items in her basket was sidewalk chalk that Mawmaw had gotten while she was here. When you push the sidewalk chalk itself it makes a sound like an elephant. She LOVED that.

She had to let baby Lucy try to make the elephant sound too.

Meanwhile, Daddy went out back to hide the eggs. As it turns out, we needed the running three year olds to make things a little bit exciting.
I handed L her bucket to collect her eggs...

...and she took it and promptly threw it on the ground!

We tried to get her interested in hunting eggs, but she was only interested in riding in her car.

We tried to get her interested in sidewalk chalk, which she enjoyed for a few minutes.

...but then she was right back to her car.

She and Brad hunted eggs from the car, which seemed to be just exactly what she wanted.

After that L still did not want to get out of her car, so we decided to hang the eggs off the car and take a walk.

Daddy is always so much more fun on walks than mommy. Mostly because Daddy doesn't mind driving fast and crazy!

We ended up at the park by the house once again.

An airplane flew overhead.

Very recently we have learned to slide sitting instead of headfirst. We still need the reminder now and again, but this is great news. L is getting more independent everyday!

Daddy and L always come up with little games. Yesterday it was grabbing daddy's hat from the swing.

What a perfect was to celebrate the Resurrection! It was an extremely pleasant day.
We got a lot of fun things going on this week. We'll keep you posted and see you next week.
