A Visit from the Tooth Fairy!

March 2, 2013

At our dentist visit in February the dentist informed us that miss L had FOUR loose teeth. We were so surprised since we hadn't really noticed them. She told miss L that they would come out when they were ready and that it might not even happen before her next visit because sometimes they take awhile.

Miss L was excited to have loose teeth, but she didn't really wiggle them. I remember being completely unable to stop myself from touching them but she was a little nervous about them coming out and just let them do their thing. Then, at a birthday party, miss L was playing and felt something in her mouth. She thought it was a screw or something from the toy structure and spit it out and realized it was her tooth! She had to check the mirror at least 100 times during that party. She was proud of that missing tooth!

The ipad

We often plug our phones and the ipad into our computer to charge (it's conveniently located). It automatically downloads any photos taken and I usually find some that are pretty cute. I love these!

This one is from a game called "The Great Cookie Thief." I love miss L's wanted poster. In the game, it's Cookie Monster that is the cookie thief but apparently miss L thinks it should be a different monster entirely. :o)

Puzzles in the Teepee

February 7, 2013

Sweet little man got his puzzle out and took it right over to the teepee to work it. Man he's cute, right?

Time out buddies

February 6, 2013

On occasion there is a time out or two served in this house. Mister W sometimes just needs to take a minute and sit by the front door and almost every single time sweet little man will follow him right to time out and sit right down. Oh, brother.

Why I should never sleep in :o)

February 6, 2013

Mister W rarely gets up before I do. Mostly I get up with him since he is always the first one up and crawls into my bed first thing in the morning. On this day I was allowed to sleep in suspiciously late and when I heard something strange I went downstairs to investigate.

This is what I found. Mister W was sitting at the table and asked me if I could help him. He'd run into some trouble with his orange. He'd gotten two oranges out of the fruit bowl and had tried to open one with a butter knife (which didn't go super well as you can see) and then helped himself to a steak knife to open the other one. He was working on a third orange when I came down. You just never know what a boy might get into. :o) (and I now know that when I hear the boy going down the stairs alone I just HAVE to get up!)

Homeschool!

February 5, 2013.

A good friend let me come to her kindergarten class sometime in January. It was beyond helpful to see what the other kids were doing and get some ideas for things that we could do too! This was totally stolen from her but miss L loved the activity and she kept asking to do more like it. I typed up the words from "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Eric Carle and miss L highlighted all of the color words. It was simple, worked her brain and she loved it. Yay!

Painting

February 3, 2013

Having three kids under 6 can be a challenge. It isn't that we can't do things like paint, because it's always fun. I think it's just that I don't think of it. I don't really just get the stuff out randomly for the kids to play with. I should, but I don't. I think I just worry about the mess, either the one that will come from the paint or the one that is all over the table where we need to paint. The thing is. The mess never stays for long and it's never that bad and the kids enjoy it.

So with all of that in mind, I couldn't say no when miss L asked me on Sunday afternoon if we could PLEASE paint. We got out the supplies and got to work. I think this is probably the first time that sweet little man had ever gotten to paint and in keeping with his personality, he liked it for a few minutes and then wanted his hands to be cleaned up. That boy doesn't really like to be messy. Mister W played with painting with yarn and a cardboard piece from a toilet paper roll and miss L made several pictures. She loves arts and crafts and almost always includes a picture of a volcano. I have no idea why, but there you have it!
