Seriously. I can't believe it's already here. The year went by way too fast, and I'm sort of thinking about how fast it went and how I want to go back and just savor every minute again. If someone ever figures out that time machine, would you let me know?
Things are going at break-neck speed around here. Last week was my birthday and music camp at our church, so things were very busy. Sweet baby L stayed in the nursery while I helped out with the camp, and our seperation anxiety is really blossoming. Monday she cried and cried. I had to walk past the door several times, and she would start all over again. Poor baby. It sort of breaks my heart, but at the same time, I know she's fine. At home, she's just gotten a lot more clingy. She always wants to be in whatever room I'm in and will sometimes latch herself onto my pants. It makes movement difficult, but to be honest, there are moments when I think, *this* is what it's all about. I have this tiny creature in my house who I just love until my heart could burst (in fact, I'm sort of shocked it hasn't yet) and she thinks I'm so fantastic that she doesn't want to be without me for a minute either. There are also moments when I wish that I could just walk from the dishwasher to the cabinets, too.
I don't have a lot of news to report. Sweet baby L is being super cute all the time (big surprise, right?). She has her twelve month well check next Monday, so we'll know if stuffing her full of food all the time has helped her gain some weight. She's doing a lot of walking and a lot of playing. I find it amazing that she's really starting to play with toys the way that they are made to be played with. She's just growing up.
I may have mentioned a while back that we're in the midst of some home projects. So far we have painted the kitchen and hung some things on the walls, painted the basement, though we are going to repaint it and we painted L's room which turned out to be fantastic.
These are the scallops on her walls:

Brad drew the scallops on the wall for me with some string, and I painted them in, so they aren't perfect, but they are cute! The ceiling is not pink. It's white. It sure does look pink though. There is a nice pink glow that comes from under her door as well. It's sort of funny.
Every day when I go in L's room to get her from her nap I am greeted by this lovely routine. She's usually sitting in her crib, and then scrambles to get to the other side of the crib and stands up so I can get her. She's always very cuddly and giggly when she wakes up.

If I wait to pick her up (in this case because I was busy snapping photos) she'll pay peek-a-boo with me through the bars of the bed.

(notice the sippy on the floor? It's a new part of our nap routine, she takes a drink with her to bed and then chunks it over the side when she's done)

and then I think she was wondering... are you EVER going to get me out of here?
These are our bedtime buddies:

We really do need toys in the bed. Sometimes, she'll wake up and play and go back to sleep. Yup... it's that awesome! She also pretty much sleeps on top of that red ball all the time. I find that to be a little strange, but hey, if she likes it, that's all that matters.
I'm going to try and do a few extra posts this week. Hopefully I'll get it done! See you soon!
