It's been a good three weeks. Miss L has been growing and doing. She loves elmo and babies and whatever we're doing. She always wants to help! We decided to make some fruit dip and it was a perfect project for L to help. We pulled out the step stool and got to work.
There was mixing (and the hard work of keeping your hands out of the mixer).

There was also some whisking.

...and some tasting.

and then the next day... some eating!

The last few weeks also brought another big change in our house. A few weeks ago we actually removed L's crib (which we'd changed into a daybed). She was jumping from the bed and actually pulling her legs up and landing on her rear end. I was just positive that she was going to injure herself, so we took the crib out. The poor baby needed a bed though, so we moved her big girl bed into her room. She is so proud of that bed.

As a part of a moms group that I'm in we attended a family night at a local restaurant. Part of the "family" part of the evening was free face painting. I was shocked that L sat so still and I don't think she really knew what was going on until we got home and she was able to see herself in the mirror.

I love that smile!

A little soap and water and it came right off before bedtime. I had no idea she'd enjoy it so much! I can't wait for the next time!
This past weekend we went to our friend sweet baby C's birthday party. I still can't believe he's one already. Where has the past year gone?!
L and big sister C had a great time in the basement waiting for other guests to arrive. C has all kinds of awesome toys and L looooooves playing at her house.

I think sweet baby C really enjoyed his presents too!

L also found some princess shoes. These were a big hit with her at the party. She couldn't really walk in two of them, so she would just wear one at a time and clomp around on the hardwoods. I think that she enjoyed making the noise more than anything. It was really cute.

...and of course there was cake!

Then yesterday we went to a local farm to pick peaches. It was an incredible day. We had so much fun, but it was hot hot hot!
L enjoyed checking out this giant "moooooooooo!"

We checked out some of the animals and rode the hayride out to the orchards to pick some peaches!
Right away L knew what to do. Lucky for us she was happy to pick just one peach at a time and then being so proud of the one she picked.

Brad managed to pick some really good ones too.

Brad also managed to pick some blackberries while we were there and made the BEST blackberry crisp that I have ever ever had. It is absolutely amazing. I can't wait for the peach pie, peach ice cream, peach cobbler and fresh peaches to follow!
See you next week!
