It's been another very short week. I have no idea why, but lately the weeks are just passing me by. I can't believe that it's actually time for Halloween already. As a family, we've been working really hard on being right in the moment, not over-scheduling and doing things together. You would think that this would slow things down a bit, right? WRONG! Time keeps ticking on by. Let me know when any of you figure out how to slow it down.
L has been as active as ever. She is a very busy girl, with hardly a second sitting down. She's also very curious girl. We have these magnet locks installed on several different cabinets in the kitchen and two magnet "keys" to open them. I try to keep one of them low enough for her to reach because she just loves it. She sticks it to the fridge and the dishwasher and tries to stick it to the walls, the wood doors, etc. It's funny to see what she can get it to stick onto. Since we're teething, she also loves to chew on it.

She has also become obsessed with our cat James. He is not quite so fond of her. She will chase him wherever he is and sometimes she is very gentle, and other times she pulls his tail. He is mostly patient but he will meow at her with irritation in his voice every once in a while. I don't know why he doesn't just go hide somewhere if he doesn't want her to mess with him, but I guess he'll learn.
Her new thing this week has been laying her head on him. It's really really cute.

(sorry for the blurry photo and crazy feet... those moments happen fast)

(he was so happy to be in the sun and have a little love. he has to take it where he can get it lately.)

James was being especially patient that day because that was the only open window in the house and he was working really hard at fitting himself into the opening.
This isn't really anything new, but it does seem to be happening a lot lately. L is really into playing with anything that isn't a toy. Our recycling center sometimes gets full and before we take it down we might stack the larger items on top. L loves this. It's her second toybox. She especially loves milk bottles and will carry one around all day until we finally throw it out.

She's also been climbing a lot. When did she get so old?

This Sunday was the fall festival party at our church. L was not crazy about wearing her wings at first.

We actually had two tutus. Uncle Kyle and Aunt Lisa helped us construct the wings and a tutu for her first Halloween. It was really big at the time. I also purchased another tutu for L this year and it's a little big, so I tried last year's tutu on and it was perfect!
(you can see the new tutu in the background)

This is L in the same costume last year.

We had a wonderful time at the fall festival. There was lots to do and lots of friends to do it with!

The group photo was a little chaotic.

See you next week!
