VACATION! Thursday

Thursday we went back to Disney, but this time visited Hollywood Studios. It was HOT. It was just almost too hot for sweet little man. Pawpaw got fans for the big kids to keep cool and we tried to find some shade. 

We spent a little time getting our bearings and headed to lunch. We had a character lunch at Hollywood and Vine with the Disney Junior characters. I have to say that when we were planning this trip I felt like the character meals were just an added cost. After having done them, I think they made the trip. Mister W was terrified but still talks about having met Donald Duck and miss L loved every minute of it. They liked the rides and the parades and the fireworks, but they really loved the character meals. I also have to say that the food was surprisingly good. There was a lot of selection and for the amount of money that we'd spend on any meal in the parks it was a much better value.

We got in and got our lunch and the characters started to come around. Mister W loves the idea of the characters but seeing them up close is a little much for him, so he covers his eyes so he can see and feel safe. Miss L just goes in for the hug and the high five. :o)

We saw Special Agent Oso. I didn't notice at the time but every photo we've got of miss L and Oso has her trying to touch the buttons on his palm pilot (which is the thing right next to her hand in this photo).

The best part about Hollywood Studios on a hot hot day is that there are lots of indoor shows. We went to see The Little Mermaid show (complete with mist, ahhhhhhhhhhhh...) and the Disney Junior show. It was PERFECT for our little ones.

We ended the day with Beauty and the Beast and the Tower of Terror. It was a bit of a hard day at the end. We were tired and the meltdowns were on the horizon (or sometimes a little closer) and we decided to throw in the towel. We'll be back sometime, I'm sure!

Back at the house we went for a dip in the pool. It was so much fun to go swimming nearly every single day. It was a little out of the way, but having the house was so worth it. We didn't feel like we missed out on any of the Disney fun, but having a kitchen and the pool all to ourselves was just awesome.
