Sunday afternoon was our first company summer picnic at Brad's "new" job. It was held at a lovely house near a winery in our area and it was GORGEOUS. This is my dream someday. Maybe not with horses, but definitely with a farm.
When we arrived we first saw the moon bounce, and we jumped and jumped. Then we saw the pony rides and we were finished with the moon bounce. :o)
Miss L waited for her turn with the ponies and wanted to ride Big Bart, also known as... the brown one.
The horse barn. I'm telling you it was so beautiful out there.
Miss L took a turn on the horse. She's such a brave girl and so good with animals. She had no problem jumping right on up.
Mister W, on the other hand, is not quite so brave when it comes to animals. He loves horses (a LOT) but gets very nervous when he gets close to them. He had been saying he wanted to ride one all day and I know he really wanted to. When push came to shove he wanted to watch miss L go around once and then decided that he wanted to ride too, with Daddy walking beside him. What a brave boy!
In the end they both rode the ponies twice.
There was a tour of the horse barn as well. The owner showed us his horses and let the kids feed some of them.
They were a lot bigger than the ponies. Mister W was not about to feed one. He did want to pet one, but in the end couldn't bring himself to do it. I'm just so proud of him for riding that pony. Next time we'll pet one. :o)
Miss L was happy to feed them though. I don't remember this one's name. I think it was Quick. She really loves animals and is so patient and easy with them. What a fabulous picnic!
